Here I am showered in gold as I'm getting ready for my beginning dance class's performance at the campus theatre. I'm at home already in costume and makeup (we're supposed to be Egyptian-like) because I don't want to go through all the hassle backstage. It's my last semester of high school, and what have I gotten myself into? Tapping to Bangles' "Walk Like an Egyptian" in front of everybody and remembering to smile always but not in the deer-caught-in-the-headlight kind of way, as my teacher emphasized. I should've taken badmington. Why didn't I take badmington?
