Working in biotech is often quite lonely. It is often just me and the millions of E. coli cells that I am culturing in order to produce DNA or protein. The little bacteria are quite unsocial so I have to find things to keep me interested. Mostly it is listening to NPR or KUOW here in Seattle. Today it was catching my reflection in the refridgerator glass, inside of which you can see the culture media, reagents and biological assay kits.
