Remember in the movie Reservoir Dogs when Steve Buscemi was complaining about having to be "Mr. Pink"? Pink gets a bad rap, probably because of it's been linked with girl babies and thus cuteness and weakness and crapping in your pants. But pink is butcher than it seems. It's a pointy word, with a tincture of violence. It comes from the Welsh: pwnc meaning "a point, an acme; to stab; pinking = cutting into points." So pink also means the acme, the beau-ideal -- the very Pink of Perfection. P.S. "Though it looks red in this photo, the dress I'm wearing in my mirror photo was actually pink."
