Our son was one born one month early. For the most part he was healthy, but he had to stay in the intensive care unit because his lungs needed time to develop.

For two weeks my wife and I basically lived in the hospital so we could be by his side. During the day, for the most part, the only time we were apart from him was when the nurses changed shifts.

During one such break, we were able to hang out in a room on the post-partum floor and try to relax. My wife took a nap but because I can rarely take naps during the day I fiddled with the digital camera's macro setting instead.

Anything that took our minds off what was going on was good.
