adventures in reflective surfaces

NYC Subway
7:20 a.m. on my way to work. Since 9/11, I have become very self conscience about people seeing me take pictures. Being that I am of middle eastern descendency, I worry they'l think i'm a terrorist and that I'm photographing potential terrorist targets. Is this crazy thinking? I dont think so. People are very sensitive these days about middle eastern men taking photographs. This is a "fuck it" moment where I just pulled out the camera and took a picture regardless of who would see me or what they would think. It's awful that something as simple as this has to be viewed as a courageous act on my part these days.
