I was at loose ends between jobs when I found a village named for the Revolutionary War general who coined that bracing license plate slogan "Live Free or Die". There's a somber old graveyard up a hill beyond the covered bridge, but for picturesque decay it's got nothing on this abandoned Bluebird schoolbus, its paint flaking off like the autumn leaves.
