This was my first Christmas outside the UK. I am used to the grey sky and, if it doesn't rain, frost on the ground. While my regular Christmas Day may not be greeting-card perfect there are usually woolens and scarves involved in any adventure outside.

This year my family spent Christmas in a villa near Javea on Spain's Costa Blanca. The weather was warmer than at home and there was bright sunshine. On Boxing Day (26 December) I was trying to capture the sunlight on the water of the villa's swimming pool when I realised I had captured myself in the pool's steps.
