Many of the fruits and vegetables we are so used to seeing here in the states are only recently being imported into Colombia and introduced into their diet. They are still very new and unfamiliar to them and many colombian families have not taken well to them as they don't know how to cook or prepare them nor what to serve them with. Incidentally, Colombia also has a number of fruits and vegetables that aren't seen here and are quiet delicious as well.
