most people who come into my office say, "oh, is that your little boy? he's adorable!"
they stammer and stutter when i say, "actually, that's my niece, but yes, she is adorable."
i have a more recent picture of her. she has ringlets now. she's unmistakably all girl. but, i keep this one on my desk for some reason. maybe i just get a kick out of watching people squirm.
