This is me reflected in the surface of a solder pot. The solder in thepot is at a temperature of about 725 degrees Fahrenheit. The shimmeryeffect is caused by ripples in the liquid metal. The yellowing is anoxide/nitrate(?) layer that starts to form immediately the hot metal isexposed to air.
