Having finally reached agrement on a renting an apartment just outside Cannes I was able to shift all my stuff down from England. I spent much time on the sofa contemplating how all of it has managed to squeeze into an apartment that was smaller than my new one. This is me reflected in my TV, which along with my Hi-Fi was one of the first things I unpacked (although I didn't get any digital satellite transmissions of British TV until a few weeks later).
