The Amber Room at Catherine Palace
I took this picture in the recently reopened Yantarnaya Komnata (Amber Room) at Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo just outside of St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Amber Room was dismantled by Nazis who occupied the palace during WWII. Only a handful of the original amber tiles have been recovered.
The room was reopened during the Summer of 2003 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg. It's really a beautiful sight.
