While enjoying the gem exhibits at the Smithsonian National Museum ofNatural History I kept alert for reflective surfaces I could try to use in amirror shot. The infamous Hope Diamond, albeit brilliant, wasn't suitable,but this flawless crystal sphere seemed to do the trick.
