In August of 2003 Lee and I took a two week drive up US-101 from just above San Francisco, CA, to Astoria, WA. We then cut over to Mount St. Helens for a few days visit in the national park and to see the site of the massive 1980 volcanic eruption. It was an amazing trip. While Lee consulted the park map, I noticed our reflection on the visitor center window. It was a brief moment in what was a completely blissful two weeks alone on the road together.
