approached by 17 year old highschool kids practising their english. (this happens a lot!) after they were finished i asked if they knew which way to go for this restaurant. some talking in thai, and they smiled and said they could take me by motorbike. how lucky i am :)

shot on the day before the start of the buddhist lent, which was 1 august this year. ubon ratchatani hosts one of thailands biggest candle festivals, but sadly enough there were no hotel rooms left in town. i only saw the preparations. big, 2 meter high candles made completely of wax though.
