There is a foucault pendulum at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The pendulum is a heavy, silver ball, and as I sat waiting for it to knock the next block down (the Earth rotates beneath the pendulum -- neat physics demonstration) I realized that each time the pendulum swung toward me, I could see my reflection in the mirrored surface of the ball.
