The Photographer and The Photographed
What is it about the camera that makes a person pose? Posing is not necessarily Being, until posing becomes exposing one's self to light. So when is a smile truly a smile and not a false performance?Being in a photograph affirms my existence and captures a moment that might otherwise be forgotten. Being the photographer and the photographed takes away the camera as a "presence", thus removing the urge to perform. The camera, then, becomes a medium for introspection. How much of yourself are you willing to expose?
