There's just something about a string of mulitcolored Christmas lights. Yes, they manufacture all white strings, all gold, all red, and many other varieties, but only the multicolored strings will give you the ultimate Christmas feeling. Perhaps there is some relativity between tackiness and the Christmas spirt. At this point, I couldn't feel more complete unless I had a real Christmas tree to string the lights around.
