adventures in reflective surfaces
Out of Chaos...
The morning after Hurricane Gloria in 1985, I saw a billboard, its many layers unevenly chewed away by the storm, revealing assorted ghosts of past commercial tout. Mt. Olive pickles. Sylvester Stallone. A giant eye, eerily peering out through its newly created peep hole. I shot a photo of it, hand tinted it with transparent photo oils, and sold it, to be hung in the offices of a stock brokerage firm. Twenty years later, I visited the (several moves from the original location) office, and noticed the photo still hung there. It was a nice memory, so I snapped a picture. And later, amongst the chaos, noticed I'm in there this time.
