adventures in reflective surfaces
waiting
This photo was part of a series of me just goofing around in the hotel room I was staying in.
I live in New York City and my daughter lives with her father in Butler, PA.This was an emergency visit to Butler for me because my daughter was in the hospital. Her neck had swelled up suddenly and at the time no one knew what was wrong with her.
During the day I would make the trek to the hospital to stay with her and at night I would be alone in my hotel room where I would sit and worry. Unable to sleep, I started taking pictures of myself in the mirror.
This one in particular I think catches my fear, which was realized a few weeks later when my daughter was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. Her name is Jasmine and she is 17 1/2. She starts treatments in April.
