i always feel strange when visiting extended family. while my father and mother and sister are quite used to my piercings and funny-colored hair and strange clothes, my midwestern aunts and cousins and grandparents aren't exactly sure what to think of me. at my sister's graduation dinner, i felt a little out of place.
