this was taken on the second morning of my trip via amtrak from new york city to chicago.

i didn't sleep well on the train, because the first night i was in coach and it just wasn't comfortable. i had a 5-hour stopover in the windy city, so i got some coffee and wandered around by the river. i also picked up a copy of the book fast food nation which you all should read.

this shot is my reflection in an office building on the other side of the river. the coffee was good. the second and third nights of my trip were much nicer because i was in a sleeper car. thanks for asking.
