adventures in reflective surfaces
one among two
in most of andreas gursky's photographs, people are tiny, lost among a sea of others, or cast against enormous backgrounds like office buildings or mountainscapes. but while walking through the amazing gursky exhibit at the museum of contemporary art in chicago, sarah and i were struck by this photograph -- simply a progression of orange to blue. i can't even remember what it's supposed to be a photograph of. after witnessing dozens of gursky photographs, we seemed humungous reflected against it. we quickly captured the moment before security caught us.(the photo in the background is his shot of a frantic the chicago board of trade.)
