M. F. Corwin | Mirror, Schloss, Dresden
In the Dresden Schloss, which is still in the process of reconstruction, there are galleries of things - in perfect taste if one happens to be Saxon king in the 17th or 18th century.
In one of the further galleries, stands a table mirror, framed in gold, rising arrogantly on a crystal stem. It is encased, of course, in plexi-glass.
Somehow, as I took this picture, I thought I could hide behind the camera, hide from the mirror, the guard, the autumn afternoon. The thought now seems merely coy, for no one was there, save me, the mirror and a window full of light.
