adventures in reflective surfaces
Time Machine
I successfully escaped Orlando and found my way to Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings home in Cross Creek, Florida. She was the author of "The Yearling".
Stepping inside the gate was like entering a time warp. Suddenly I was transported back to the past - Florida in the 40's & '50's, the Florida of my childhood. A wave of warm nostalgia swept over me. The screened sleeping porch, the beadboard, the old red linoleum, orange blossoms, wood stoves, cypress and heart pine.
Here's Marjories indoor bathroom....the only one of it's kind back in her day.I guess I'm one who will never accept the Disneyfied version, because I remember the real Florida.
